Cruise documentation

Hey All,

So think I had asked this awhile back when I was supposed to be cruising now (April) but this cruise was canceled and now I’m set for October. Does MSC allow birth certificates as documentation to get on their cruise? I wanted to know for my kids since my husband and I have passports. The person I talked to at MSC says they do but on the web check-in the only documentation I see are passports and ID cards?? If I have to fill out that information I don’t how to do it if there is no birth certificate listed. Do I call MSC and they put it in manually? I want this figured out so I can get IDs or passports done this summer. Thanks!

It all depends on where the cruise starts and finishes. The best thing you can do is get passports for the kids. Then you won't have to worry.

We’ve done three with MSC out of Miami with kids and didn’t need. Last year we traveled with friends who didn’t have passports...they used their enhanced drivers’s  license (we live 20 minutes from Canada and allows us to cross border w/out passports). I just bring the kids birth certificates.

I do think at some point we will get them passports but we haven’t felt the need with cruising in the Caribbean.

Our first cruise, I called MSC. If I remember correctly, I put in birth cert# when registering online the week before cruise. We showed their birth certificates during check in at port.
