annbanan Posted February 15, 2006 #26 Share Posted February 15, 2006 Stakeout, I love the bright eyed and bushy tailed pic. I'd look that way too getting up @5am on vacation. I get up 5:30am at work, but snooze on my cruise! It is great reading everyone's posts with all the after dinner things everyone does. Just reading, reliving and looking forward to next months cruise!
LHC Posted February 15, 2006 #27 Share Posted February 15, 2006 DD and I did take in several of the shows post dinner, then we headed to the room and either played Scrabble or read, wrote and did our devotionals before hitting the ZZZ's...seems that almost all our excursions were the 8 am ones..better planning on our part next time might allow for later evenings. konkrete kid Posted February 15, 2006 #28 Share Posted February 15, 2006 WOW! So much to do and only 10 days to do it all - beginning March 15th on the Noordam (our first HAL cruise). I am so looking forward to doing everything mentioned - strolling the deck, looking at the stars, reading in a quiet place, visiting the casino, seeing the shows, and really excited to do dancing as my husband and I have been taking lessons in ballroom, latin, swing, etc. for the past 18 months. Oh yes, and looking forward to the port excursions - we will have a blast! I know cruises are supposed to be relaxing, but we look forward to all the activities in addition to the quiet time. csg99 Posted February 15, 2006 #29 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I'm with Ruth--if there's a good performer in the Piano Bar, then we're usually there until closing. We've had some really incredible ones and, unfortunately, a couple of real duds. Since it was below par the last couple of times, we saw more of the shows and spent a little more time at the nickel slots....:o
ekerr19 Posted February 15, 2006 #30 Share Posted February 15, 2006 and spent a little more time at the nickel slots....:o I have a favorite nickel slot - the Jackpot Party - I won the jackpot on the final Noordam III voyage - it was quite thrilling, even after realizing it was only $250 - I forgot it needed to be calculated in nickels! csg99 Posted February 15, 2006 #31 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I have a favorite nickel slot - the Jackpot Party - I won the jackpot on the final Noordam III voyage - it was quite thrilling, even after realizing it was only $250 - I forgot it needed to be calculated in nickels! I LOVE the Jackpot Party! I won $110 the first night I played it! (not $250--that's great!)....My DH and our friend had better luck with the Treasure Hunt. My DH had a woman hovering over him almost the entire time he was playing one night--she kept her hand on the back of his chair! I came over to talk to him and she stuck her hip out, like I was trying to cut in line (I didn't realize there WAS a line). I know they make more from the quarters on up, but they should add more nickel slots. I usually won't play if one isn't open, so they're losing my donation for the night.;) And, from the determined look on that woman's face, she clearly felt the same way!
