florisdekort Posted February 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Puerto Madryn. Millennium skipped Port Stanley due to weather and is now running a day ahead of schedule.
USSFRef Posted February 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I'm really beginning to wonder why Port Stanley is on anyone's itinerary. I'm sure it's a pretty cool place, but the seas there are hardly ever tender-friendly.
roberts2005 Posted February 14, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I wonder when the Captain made the decision to abort Port Stanley and proceed to Puerto Madryn. On the Jan. 8th Millenium we rode high seas and fierce winds just to get close to the Falklands and then left within a short time.
dileep Posted February 14, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Puerto Madryn. Millennium skipped Port Stanley due to weather and is now running a day ahead of schedule. Does that mean an extra day in Puerto Madryn?
dileep Posted February 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I wonder when the Captain made the decision to abort Port Stanley and proceed to Puerto Madryn. On the Jan. 8th Millenium we rode high seas and fierce winds just to get close to the Falklands and then left within a short time. There is a new captain aboard for this cruise. Our captain chose to go the Port Stanley and make a decision after testing the tenders. We were lucky to be the only sailing to make it to the Falklands. We were told by the naturalist the day before that our chances of success were 50-50.
