Help / Advice for LAX to port

Hi I will be going on the Monarch of the seas in May. I need some help or addvice. We have looked at Hyte hotel but is 189 a night. Need to know if there is anything else. Want to find a nice hotel and not far form the docks, I am also thinking of renting a car so we can do some site seeing. Is there a good one to rent from and or a park and stay hotel near. Any help would be great.

We stayed at 4 points Sheraton close to LAX (very nice but probably certainly not the least expensive) and used Prime Time Shuttle and were very pleased.

Thank you - Any other hotels in the area? How far is it from LAX to the docks?

 

Also we are going to be 2 days before and 2 days after so we think a car would be better.

I you're going to be in the area 2 days before the cruise, I would not stay near the airport, too noisy. LA is a fairly vast area, so you need to narrow it down to what you want to do before deciding on a hotel.

 

The port of Los Angeles is actually in San Pedro, approximately 20 miles from LAX. You don't want to stay there, it is not a nice area, Long Beach would be a better choice. But, you can also stay in another area of LA and drive down the morning of the cruise.

 

To my knowledge, Enterprise car rental agency has an office near the port and they will drive you over there after dropping off a rental. I'm sure the have pick up at LAX or Long Beach airport (LGB). LGB is appriximately 13 miles to the port.

It has been mentioned to me that we might want to say near Anaheim. Is this a nice area? How far from the port? Is it easy to get to this area from the LAX airport?
