TorontoBeach Posted February 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Do you have a favourite beach on St. Thomas or St. John? We'd like either one that is very secluded and "post card", or one that has a variety of things to do (like snorkelling, volleyball, a drink or two, etc.). Also, what are your thoughts on Sapphire Beach? Does it have snorkelling?
The Islander Posted February 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2006 Hello TorontoBeach, Secluded, you could try Gibney or Denis on St. John or Jumbie or hike to Solomon or Honeymoon. The secluded ones on St. Thomas are more difficult to get to (off the beaten path, dirt roads...), but if you headed to Magens Bay you could walk along the right hand side (when facing the water), along the rocks to Little Magens for a bit of a secluded beach (warning, it is known for being clothing optional - although this is illegal in the VI). If you want lots of things to do then the resort beaches on St. Thomas would be a good match as many have watersports booths that offer kayaks, windsurfers, paddle boats, snorkel gear etc and also have bars/restaurants for the food & drink part of your request. Sapphire is a nice beach and yes it does have snorkeling.
