drowelf Posted June 1, 2021 #26 Share Posted June 1, 2021 I've done this twice on HAL. When my father passed in 2014, it one of his wishes that I scatter his and my mothers ashes around the world. As such we have been doing it for the past years. We put about half of each of their ashes in their niche urns at a cemetery. The remainder are in an urn in our house. At every cruise I take a few cup of their ashes to be scattered during our adventures. We scattered them in the Drakes Passage, Icelandic Sea and many places on land (Gibraltar, Bordeaux, Maui, Oahu, Iceland, England, Italy, Faroes, Shetland, Scotland and many others). When we do the land scatters, I take pictures with my phone so I have geotag of the location and for the sea scatters, I have requested that we be provided with documentation on the ships location at the time we scatter the ashes. The ship has always been most accommodating to our requests to perform this service.
