Opera whale watching

Does anyone know if you can book whale watching excursions outside of the cruise line in La Romama? Also is there good snorkeling off the beach at Cayo Levantado?

Thanks! We are on the Feb 18th sailing. Can't wait!!!!

YOU HAVE IT BACKWARDS,IT'S WHALE WATCHING IN SAMANA(CAYO

LEVANTADO)NOT LA ROMANA.

IF THIS CAUSES A PROBLEM,YOU COULD STILL PROBABLY GO SNORKLING

AND WHALE WATCH ON THE SHIP AT THE BUFFET LINE(JUST KIDDING)

YOU CAN MOST LIKELY DO BOTH IN SAMANA.

If you want to go whale watching in Cayo Levantado you have to purchase it through the ship as the tour boat picks you up right from the ship and there is no way to independantly purchase the excursion. We did the whale watching and it was a highlight of our trip.

The other cruisers who did the snorkeling excursion said it was not very good and snorkeling from the beach didn't give you much to look at.

Hope this helps. Ziggy
