Aussieguy23 Posted February 17, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted February 17, 2006 doesnt that suck about the alcohol?? a few months ago you were allowed to take your own onboard until some school leavers did some damage, tho i have a plrice list here and ther arnt "too" expensive
mands Posted February 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2006 So unfair that people ruin it, I was reading another chat and it said a guy jumped overboard and stuff, so you get some idiots that do stupid things. I think everyone is now trying to come up with ideas of how to get some on still though. Also, we watched this P&O dvd which interviewed heaps of different passengers, apparently it's the best way to meet people, so you should be right with making a load of new friends. saraheg77 Posted February 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Aussieguy, sounds like a good group - how old is your sister's boy? Will he be doing the kid cruise things? It always seems like the kid groups are having a great time! I'm 28 and my husband is 29, so not tooo old! Do you go to the casinos? Mark loves to late after I'm in bed! ha! If you guys want to meet up some time, let me know! Before my last cruise, I remember reading through several posts about 'sneaking' alcohol on different cruise lines. I know people take clear alcohol in water bottles sometimes. Can't remember all the other tricks! mands - it is just the general cruising book that says the theme nights are usually 'Country & Western', 'Island Night' and 'Retro Night'. Almost all my clothes pass for Island Night, so I don't have a problem there. I am taking boots and outfits for Country Western, but no hats - too hard to pack! I have a great outfit for Retro - these tall white go-go boots and a fun skirt & top. Still working on retro for my hubby. Wanted to get him a pimp disco outfit, but haven't found anything. Only one more week! YIPPEEEE!!!!!!!!
mands Posted February 17, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2006 cool thanks for that. Yeah I did see those theme nights actually, so will probably pack something for the western night and like you say some of my clothes are "island like" anyway, plus my hubbie has a few of those islander type shirts as well! I had the best jeans with fraying down the side from Portmans for the last western night we went to, sadly they aren't with me anymore. You're sooooo lucky with one more week, spose I only have two so that is still exciting!
cruiselover96 Posted February 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Ausieguy and mands when do you fly out and have any of the tours grab you. Sarah you must be sooooooooooooo excited (big smiley grin here). lol lol Kerri
mands Posted February 17, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2006 We fly out on 4th March, same day we sail out. I'm loving the sound of the airtrek canopy tour in Langkawi at the moment, sounds like great fun and also the Pulau Marine Park as well. Then I like the sound of the Jungle Trek in Phuket. We have done Phuket and Penang on separate occasions so have done all the temples are mosques to death, so am really not bothered in anything like that this time. Just want to do adventure and snorkelling not to mention drinking and eating!!!:)
kaseyoz Posted February 17, 2006 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Hi sarah. Are you really taking two pairs of books on your cruise???:) How many suitcases are you taking? anyway if you want a pimp costume or any other costume check out ebay. I saw a few shops that had pimp costumes. Cant wait to see the photos.....
saraheg77 Posted February 17, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Hi mands! You're hopping on as we hop off! That was actually our first choice, but it was already sold out! We are very excited about the Eastern, too, though :) kaseyoz - yep, taking two pair of boots. Luckily, both are pretty flexible... the white ones fold up pretty well except for their heels :D The cowboy ones should pack well, too. I think I am packing two small suitcases. I should be able to fit everything. The problem may be where to put our souvenirs! I think we will throw in another bag that packs flat. I checked ebay for stuff for my hubby, but didn't find anything in his size that was in our price range! But I think I have something that will work pretty well. I wonder how many times I will post here DURING our cruise. :D

Aussieguy23 Posted February 19, 2006 Author #16 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Heya we fly out on the 25th feb same day as the cruise leaves. The little boy is 2 which is REALLY going to suck because they only cater for 3yrs and up, so id better meet people because either my mum and my sis will have to be babysitting. So looks like ill be cruising around the boat bymyself lol. One thing tho is we have only just received out tickets witht the theme nights etc etc. As far as alcohol goes im not going to risk it, i dont think they can do much if u get caught but I dont want to get off on the wrong foot, and im sure they'd be wise to the vodka in the water bottle. 6 Days to go i cant wait, plus i just broke up with my girlfriend so it'll be good to get my mind off things, not that u needed to know that lol

cruiselover96 Posted February 19, 2006 #19 Share Posted February 19, 2006 You're going to have a ball and since you've just split with your gf there will an abundance of young females. With the alcohol if you just put one bottle in your case and they took all they'll do is take it and give it back at the end of the cruise. They won't even remember what you look like. There are so many people embarking you'll just be another face in the crowd. lol lol Kerri
saraheg77 Posted February 19, 2006 #20 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Aussieguy - That is too bad that they don't keep the 2yr olds! Hope your mum and sis get some relaxation in, too! If you ever want to hit the casino, my hubby will be happy to go with... and yeah, I'm sure you'll meet lots of girls as you're free to now! Yippee!! 6 days - I can't believe it! CruisingTexan Posted February 19, 2006 #22 Share Posted February 19, 2006 I have been known in my day to be able to pick up a lady or two... even my wife fell into my trap! We will hit the casino one night, and make sure all the little Aussiegals come running to your side. All I ask is for pictures later :) Saraheg77's husband

karmac Posted February 19, 2006 #25 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Hi Aussieguy, I'm really sorry to hear about your split with your GF but I'm sure you'll fine someone else soon enough. Maybe on your cruise, maybe when you get back. It doesn't matter when. Just have a great time. and that, I'm sure you will. Karen
