A reminder to others that may also have this situation. DH, who now has medicare health coverage but not for out of country. We added an annual international plan so when we travel, he will be covered.

We purchased an annual geoblue trekker choice plan, which does require the policyholder to already have a primary USA  plan. You can purchase directly from geoblue or from a company that has different offerings like insuremytrip.
