Internet speed on board

Recommended Posts

Just read this informative The Points Guy article about internet speeds on board: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/celebrity-cruises-xcelerate-internet-speed/

The author mentions that in the all-inclusive bookings, the included speed is the slower "Surf" speed.

I wonder if it is the Surf or Stream speed if you booked a 4-perks package which pre-dates the all-inclusive deals?

We booked perk package for our November Apex sailing in a C1 before the AI program began and we have the Stream package. I found it in the Order History of the cruise planner.

We noticed the speed was way slower than before the AI. We are Elite so we would get free internet minutes and never had a problem streaming or using "Face Time". Now you are lucky to be able to upload pictures! I am guessing that they slowed the speed down so all of the frustrated people would upgrade to the "Stream" package. Hopefully they will replace the Elite free minutes with a free stream upgrade soon.
