Ron34238 Posted February 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2006 My wife and I will be travelling between San Diego and the Hawaiian Islands, on the Radiance, in May. Since there will be a total of 8 sea days, we are most interested in finding out what kind of weather we might experience that time of year. Particularly, what are the day time outdoor temperatures and what kind of seas might we expect. Anyone have any first hand information they could share regarding our upcoming Pacific journey? Thanks, Ron
Druke I Posted February 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I'll try again - previous attempt disappeared into cyberspace. It is often a bit bumpy first day out from CA, but seastate very unpredictable. We did a crossing, Osaka Japan/Honolulu/Vancouver BC way back 5-89, on Sea Princess (originally Kungsholm, later Victoria, and now Mona Lisa), and the Pacific was very smooth all the way. That was our only May experience on the Pacific, other than repositionings when they are moving the ships up to Alaska, and that is often bumpy, as you are "bucking" the Japanese Current, which flows South along the Left Coast.
