TigerBravo1977 Posted February 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2006 We have a room on hold for us that appears to be above the Wine Bar (PR room 6303). On a previous cruise we were above a night club and couldn't sleep because of the noise. Does anybody know if this area generates much noise? Thanks. AlDubya Posted February 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I was on the Mariner, with a promenade view room, and not to far from Vintages (Wine Bar) and the Wig and Gavel (English Pub). If your cruise is anything like mine, you won't have a problem with noise. Vintages is VERY low key and it actually didn't get much traffic while we were there. To be honest, the rooms appear to be sealed off from the promenade, in terms of noise, very well. I remember when they had the parade, which we saw a good deal of from our room and, while you could hear what was gonig on, it was hardly thunderous, or anything that would have kept us awake if we were trying to sleep. Cats' slave Posted February 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2006 We just returned from a Mariner cruise. We were on deck six and we heard absolutely nothing from anywhere, including the two tiny boys across the hall. It seems to me the rooms are sealed very well against noise. ellenw Posted February 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Just got off Mariner on Sunday. I haven't been in one of the cabins above the Promenade, but they will need to be well soundproofed if you have a crowd like us at the Wig and Gavel. Jimmy Blakemore was the entertainment from 10 to 1 on 5 of the nights. We were all very into singing along with Jimmy! Had a fabulous time. But, as I was walking back from the ladies room at the end of the Promenade one night, I realized just how loud that singing was! I hope the rooms are well soundproofed so our great time didn't become someone elses sleepless night. Hopefully someone that was on the Mariner sailing of 2/5, and was in one of thse cabins can provide some feedback.
GOALIEMOM30 Posted February 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I spoke to a woman at RCCL and questioned about the noise level on deck 3. The disco is on that floor and the casino is on deck 4. She told me all rooms are sound proof and we wouldn't hear a thing. I wonder also if that is true. jrm9999 Posted February 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I do know the disco is supposed to be sound proof.
bobbie0253 Posted February 16, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2006 We have had room 6283 on the NOS and the AOS. Not far from the room you are looking at. Both times the noise from the promenade wasn't an issue. Also.....We loved the location both times.
CruiseBoy48 Posted February 17, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2006 :o We just went on the Mariner and had a Prominade room at 7581, which was right at the steps for the Casino Royale. We were also near the cross-over that is used to sing from. Our only moise in our room was the first night when they held the first parade at 10:45. The noise from the music was loud enough to bother us in our bed, but it was over in 15 minutes and never again were we bothered by any noise from the outside. ellenw Posted February 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2006 I'm so glad to hear that the noise wasn't an issue for passengers with cabins above the Promenade. I was feeling pretty guilty for how noisy our group was! But we sure were having fun! If Jimmy is still in the Wig and Gavel when you are there, don't miss him. We had a terrific time. I think I heard he was transferring to Freedom.
Nliedel Posted February 17, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2006 The wine bar is VERY sedate, except... (here it comes) for the drunken loons that inhabit it before the final seating on the last formal night when they have their martini tasting. Bunch of morons! Oh wait, I was one of those! Seriously it's mostly like a tomb in there.
