E-Gate at Heathrow

Husband and I will be on Silhouette in April for European trip!

If my husband uses wheelchair assistance from plane to luggage pickup,

will he be able to use e-pass? Watched Heathrow video on e-pass and it

was not covered. Thank you!

They  do make accessible e-gates, but I don't know if Heathrow has them installed or if they are in every terminal.  The regular e-gates usually have a camera that is at standing height, so he might be too low if seated in a chair (unless he can stand up for the camera).  I would contact the assistance people at Heathrow and ask.  Alternatively, check with your airline to see if they know (you usually have to book disability services through the airline you fly with).  Generally, those who are using the airport's assistance services will skip long lines so as not to tie up the assistance staff.  I'd be interested in knowing what you find out.

If you have assistance, you will be taken via the crew / special assistance lane and not the regular lanes. 

Not that Heathrow assistance is poor at the best of times - so whilst your husband might get help they will have little regard for you. Mind you they may have little regard for your husband as well!

it really is not good - but then neither is some assistance in the USA.
