nancydee Posted October 21, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2021 My son-in-law is wondering if they have a Texas Hold-em tournament on the Horizon, and if so the buy in cost? Do they offer this? Thanks 😊
zzdoug Posted October 21, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2021 I'm currently on the Vista with a very low passenger count this week but I'm guessing it's the same fleetwide. The fun times or e-capers or hub news or whatever you want to call the daily activity list seems to list holdem get togethers a few times daily. However the few times I stopped by, there weren't any others there. It's an electronic table and I assume it has a tournament feature but I don't know for sure. I imagine if there were more people, you could agree to a small tournament, but there would need to be a critical mass of people. It would be nice if the app had some kind of bulletin board feature that could be used to reach out to other potential players but it doesn't. zzdoug Posted October 21, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2021 (edited) This is the listing. I'll try to post a photo of the table when I can. May not be until we return to Galveston since we are leaving port shortly and I don't have a WiFi package at sea. dallasdan Posted October 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2021 The last cruise I was on in August did not have the Hold Em tournament. I think all tournaments are suspended during this covid period.
vwrestler171 Posted October 22, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2021 Its funny they won't do tournaments because of COVID, but they will cram as many people into the casino that they can. I think it's because they don't make as much from the tournaments.

Vidimom Posted October 23, 2021 #7 Share Posted October 23, 2021 Texas Hold-em is held in the Sports Bar on the Horizon. Our friends we traveled with play a lot and were not happy because when there was a sporting event, you couldn't use the table because everyone was watching the games. There were no tournaments. The only one announced was for a $70.00 buy in.

With the number of people in an average blackjack or slot tournament I think they are making a ton of money off of them considering the top prize is $500. zzdoug Posted October 28, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 28, 2021 here is a photo of the table. Speaking only for myself, I'd rather play with real cards, real chips, and real people.
