coco2014 Posted November 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2021 I want to book an Alaska cruise in June 2022, but is a little concern with the new COVID variant... I am in US and the cruise is round trip from Vancouver, Canada. With this year Canada closed the border to visitor and later mandatory quarantine requirements, I am afraid it might repeat. I tried to contact Royal C., but they said the 2022 COVID refund policy is not out yet. Questions: 1. if Canada is to do any mandatory quarantine requirements, would Royal C. do full refund? - We do not want to quarantine just to cruise from Vancouver 2. If Canada did close border, the vancouver RT cruise, would they cruise from Seattle? - we like the Vancouver itineraries much better Thanks for any tips! smplybcause Posted November 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2021 No one knows. If cruises are canceled refunds are an option. Though I can almost guarantee any policy won't be any more generous than the current policy. Also they only cruised Alaska this year because of something congress passed. I'm not sure how specific it was, but if it was specific to last year it might be hard to get that for this year again. Even if they do pass something where cruises don't have to stop in Canada - I don't think Seattle has the capacity for the Alaska ships that weren't home ported in Alaska to port there without major changes. ie cruises would have to leave on other days
