lderochi Posted December 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2021 Hello, we are cruising Alaska for the first time in May next year. I'm curious as to whether the Dog Sledding/Glacier flight excursion in Skagway and Juneau are generally the same, or is one better? Does time of year (mid-May) make any difference for either one? Because of the itinerary if we take the excursion in Juneau there will be no time to take a whale watching excursion (either through HAL or independently). But if we take the excursion in Skagway we can do whale watching in Juneau and also have time for the White Pass Railway in Skagway. Skagway seems like a no-brainer, but I wonder if the Juneau excursion is significantly better? There are no reviews on the HAL website for either one. Thanks for any suggestions. JSSpence Posted December 10, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2021 We’ve been debating the same. On our itinerary we’ll hit Juneau before Skagway. I’ve been thinking of planning to do it in Juneau so that if weather causes a cancellation, we can try again in Skagway.
lderochi Posted December 11, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted December 11, 2021 (edited) Thank you. Yes, thought about doing the same in reverse. Planning on Skagway, with Juneau as backup. But I’m afraid the backup will sell out. Edited December 11, 2021 by lderochi
