Places to eat in South Beach?

Lincoln Road is a pedestrian area with loads of stores and restaurants - something for every palate and price range. We were just there Sunday and had the best time browsing and people watching.

I would like to say that Joe's Stone Crabs - while kind of expensive, is the place to eat in S. Beach for our famous stone crabs. You won't be disappointed, but go early as it is very crowded after 8pm. Allow $60 per person if you eat here.....

Joe's is the most famous restaurant in South Beach, is very close to the Century, and was there before SOBE became hip. It's only expensive if you order the stone crabs. Everything else on the menu is very reasonable, and you can get half a chicken cooked several ways for $5.95, no that is not a misprint. If you go, may I suggest you get there a few minutes before they open at 5 PM. That way you should not have a wait. At prime time you can wait up to 3 hours. The cole slaw, hash browns and key lime pie are the other must haves. They have a carryout next door as well. At Washington Ave at South Pointe.

The News Cafe on Ocean Drive around 8th or 9th is very reasonable and has that SOBE vibe going for it. The 11th St Diner is another affordable place. If you like authentic Cuban, check out Puerto Sagua on Collins at 7th. Also preceeds the incarnation of SOBE. As you walk along Ocean Drive every restaurant will have their menu and dishes displayed. If one looks good, they'll be happy to have you.
