karolinatx Posted December 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2021 Currently onboard. Our suite is directly beneath the pool deck and when the DJ plays (such as right now), the bass is so loud it vibrates our entire cabin. Our Rock Star agent says it’s a known issue. We obviously asked to change rooms the day we boarded but only available rooms would have been a massive downgrade. Would recommend avoiding these cabins unless you are a night owl who does not enjoy napping. 👎🏻

karolinatx Posted December 22, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted December 22, 2021 (edited) We got a letter from the captain yesterday saying they are highly encouraged. Someone posted it in the CDC yellow thread. Edited December 22, 2021 by karolinatx

Aw, bless your heart. We’re experienced cruisers who have sailed Celebrity, Princess, HAL, Cunard, and Azamara and we’ve never experienced a noise issue like this one whether we had the least expensive inside room or a suite. I’m not going to address the replies indicating I should have just left the room except to say I think cruise cabins should be fully useable at all times, including to be able to sleep, whether it’s midday or midnight like last night. Obviously some noise is to be expected but this was beyond the pale. Every sailing, Virgin is going to have extremely cheesed off guests who paid $5,000 to have their fillings rattled out of their skulls until they fix it. 3
Rare Wildcatllamas Posted December 28, 2021 #8 Share Posted December 28, 2021 My one and only Carnival cruise I was above the theater, where the speakers were mounted on the ceiling. It would vibrate the beds so bad that there was no way of sleeping until the show was over at 11:30 PM. But that pales to your experience and what you paid for it.
