Hi,

Nassau actually is a good place to snorkel. Nassau has good snorkeling just a short boat ride from where you dock. The day snorkel boats usually go to thunderball reef (where they filmed the James Bond movie in the '60s). There's some pretty good coral and fish. Since you have two college daughters, I'd suggest a catamaran. That way they can sit in the net in the front and get those "rays" on the way to/from the reef. Plus, after you get done snorkeling, the boats almost always have rum punch for the way back (start drinking, stop snorkeling is usually the rule). As far as San Juan, there's really not much reef or beach and you didn't say what your daughter's interests were but usually people go in two directions, a trip to the rain forest or walk around the old town. We've done both repeatedly and our 18 yr. old son still likes both.

Hope this helps,

Randall
