wwwmarge Posted February 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2006 LauraS, I don't know where to post this if you think it should be posted in another area please go ahead. I thought people planning on purhasing a cruise to the ports listed should have a early heads up. Brazil and other ports listed in the link have a 6 mos. minimun before passport expire. http://www.smartertravel.com/advice/advtips/advice.php?id=300302&source=milealert&value=2006-02-21&u=394A4D5738
gr81 Posted February 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Sounds like a Government CMA. Trying to make sure you have some leeway on the passport for any reason you end up staying longer than intended. I had to read the line twice because the first time I thought it ment a passport was only good for 6 months total.
PurpleCow Posted February 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2006 The 6 month rule is pretty much true of every country you visit.

greatam Posted February 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2006 It is a minimum of 6 months. Lots of countries will NOT issue visas if you do not have 6 months minimum validity on your passport.
kitty9 Posted February 21, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2006 That rule is for every place you visit that requires a passport, not just Brazil. Countries like Brazil, that also require visas, say that passports must be valid for AT LEAST 6 months beyond your visit. I know this because I just applied for my Brazilian visa this morning.
