Singles mingle

While I am happily married...I will be traveling with some singles ladies on our upcoming cruise.  I feel that I can recall that there was a "singles mingle" on my past cruises but I wasn't sure if that was only on certain length cruises or not....we will be on a 5 night cruise....will they have a single mingle?  If so, for those who have attended...are they fun?  lots of people?  We are traveling over spring break and they are in their 40's so I am having a hard time imagining there will be a great deal of similarly aged single men on board but what do I know?????????  TIA

I've haven't ever cruised single, so I have never been looking....but do single middle-aged men typically cruise????  I just can't see it......

you'd be surprised that people of all ages are traveling solo.  If you look on face book  & other sites, there are a lot of Solo cruiser groups.

Not much activity at these events.  I stopped by the Singles Meet Up at Alchemy on my 12/26 cruise.  Sat at the bar and ordered a martini.  Took a few minutes just to scan the place.  Ended up chatting for quite a while with the lady and her husband sitting next to me.  While I was there, I literally saw maybe 2 single ladies at the end of the bar.  No single men.  The rest of the people there were all couples!  It was actually kinda funny (and my group joked about it for the rest of the cruise).   No worries - I was with a super fun group and had a great cruise!!

They're called "Your Time" events and they schedule them for a variety of groups but they're always a wash. Usually around 9ish at a super popular and packed bar with zero seating and more often than not a band playing so very little talking either. Twenty years ago you'd find these in the afternoon a lot- late afternoon in say the pub or something and it was more successful as far as people showing up and being able to really hang out, talk and get to know someone. I think, aside from newer cruisers, most people don't bother anymore because Carnival stopped bothering a long time ago.
