Walking Distance

What sights or shops in Nassau are within walking distance of the ship? (And I am talking an easy walk...) How far is the straw market?

Also--if you get a cab to Atlantis--is it a long walk to the aquarium and the casino?

Thanks!

There's quite a bit to see in Nassau within "strolling" distance.

There's plenty of Shopping, both high end and souveniers, the straw Market, Senor Frogs, Rawson Square and Government House, the British Colonial Hilton, and many, many small restaurants and cafes.

The straw market is about 4 blocks from the port.. a nice stroll along the wharf.

At Atlantis, if you enter from either Royal Towers or Coral Towers, you'll walk about 5 - 8 minutes thru the lobbies/casino and then down a flight of stairs to the aquarium. The DIGS themselves takes some time, usually more than an hour, but you can get thru it in less time. At the end of the DIGS is more walking.. around the lagoons and Atlantis grounds and then find you're way back inside. (sheesh.. I'm exhausted just writing about it)..

If you pass yourself, and take you time.. you should be fine.

I like to "stroll" myself.

Thank you. Is it a long walk (or the same as you described) to the Atlantis casino from the drop-off point?

From the Royal Tower entrance .. about 3-4 minutes past the lobby.. From Coral Towers about 5-6 minutes stroll.

It's a nice stroll either way. Indoors, walking isn't a problem, it's the labyrinth of pathways outdoors that are crazy.

Enjoy your trip!
