We have stayed at this hotel twice - once in January 2005 and once in January 2006. If you are flying into Fort Lauderdale and need a place to spend one night before your cruise, I think this is an excellent choice. Both times we waited about 15 minutes for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We used the shuttle from the hotel to the port both times, also. When you check in you can sign up for the shuttle of your choice. The shuttles to the port were on time and very convenient. The hotel seems to be in good shape. There is a Walgreens next door and across the street there is a small Italian restaurant and a Publix grocery store. That is about the extent of what is within walking distance. So I would not recommend this hotel if you have several days to spend in Fort Lauderdale unless you have a car.

Thanks!!!! That's all we need. And I was wondering if there was any place within walking distance to get last minute things. You answered my question.
