HOSKI Posted May 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Wow that could be a tough one as many of the hotels in NOLA charge you to park while you stay there. I also found this problem in Norfolk. footballmom Posted May 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Are you in luck?? I just booked 2 rooms at the Maison St. Charles in the Garden District. They have a "Bon Voyage" special. A great rate, 2 complimentary drinks in the lounge, $5/night parking for your vehicle while on the cruise (as cheap as it gets!!), and limo transport to the cruise terminal. The only downside is that you have to catch a cab back to the hotel to retrieve your vehicle. Hope this helps. Go directly to the hotel website www.maisonstcharles.com and call the number on the page. I got this info off of the great folks here at cruisecritic!! Enjoy!! phinfan63 Posted May 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2004 The New Orleans Hilton Riverside has a Hilton Cruisin package that is $99.00 and the parking is free for 7 days. It is within walking distance of the pier. You will have to call them at 800-445-8667 to get this. Can't do it online. 8/23 Holiday
QTPieRye Posted May 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2004 We also have 2 rooms booked in the Maison St. Charles Hotel for 9/17 and 9/18... Does anyone have any reviews of this hotel? I know it is older, but we enjoy the personality of the older hotels. Girls Only Conquest! Sensation Family Cruise
footballmom Posted May 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Trip Advisor has reviews written by "normal" people. I got the info on the hotel from some board members who had stayed there pre-cruise. They were very pleased with their stay. Have fun. Can't wait to sail on the Conquest 11/

footballmom Posted May 14, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Just an FYI.....We plan to head to New Orleans on Friday (we're driving) and stay an extra day in a city I love! Called the Hilton to see about the Hilton Cruising deal, and they absolutely will not let anyone book back to back nights for the cruisin deal. You can book one before and one after, but won't let you book Friday and Saturday even with Friday at their "normal" rate. It really confused me AND the reservation specialist. The manager at the desk was even slightly put off by my request! I guess the Maison St Charles will get my $$$$$ Can't wait to sail on the Conquest 11/
Cotton Posted May 14, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I would recommend the older hotels any day over the newer fancy highrises. N.O. is such an historical city, and the older hotels show the more southern traditional w/the French influence thrown in. I always recommend the older hotels to friends coming into the city, especially the ones with the brick courtyards and gaslights...things you just don't find in the "new" era buildings. rjsr2000 Posted May 15, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 15, 2004 We stayed at the Maison St,Charles in March and did the Bon Voyage Special..we loved the Hotel..the cable car is right out the front door of the hotel...and they do take you to the cruise terminal in a Limo...but its $7.00 per person to catch a cab back to the hotel....we would stay there any time we cruise out of New Orleans...enjoy your cruise... hcrews Posted June 21, 2004 #16 Share Posted June 21, 2004 We have res. at the Hilton Riverside and they do not offer a shuttle to the pier. However, the hotel is quite close to the pier but I don't know how much luggage you have. I considered dropping the family and luggage off at the pier, going back and parking, then walking over myself. Not a very long walk.
