cruisewiththekids Posted July 4, 2023 #76 Share Posted July 4, 2023 I'm looking at this small boat tour to Hubbard through Celebrity also. It is offered for May 16 next year, but for the whopping price of $425.99 pp. What glacier does the Kenai Fjord cruise from Seward go to, and how does it compare to Hubbard? Holland America charges less ($299) for the small boat excursion from the cruise ship. You can look at the website for the Kenai Fjords tours. On a beautiful, sunny day I would choose Kenai Fjords for the beautiful scenery. It is much more than glacier viewing. We took the 6 hour tour. It’s hard to predict the weather if you want to book in advance.

Princess' pricing is $299.95 for DH and $299.95 for me. Because we are Elite, we will also get a 10% credit back to us for purchasing the excursion through Princess. We decided to use our OBC so the trip is free for us. We feel lucky to take advantage of this perk. I have seen a lot of crazy pricing for some of the glacier tours --- not sure if it has to do with the cost of fuel or not. May 25, 2024 Princess for Hubbard is $394.95; too bad no other vendors to offer competition; even one or two more small vessels

It’s not an “excursion” like on land, where there are usually multiple vendors for various activities.
cruisewiththekids Posted May 19 #81 Share Posted May 19 Anyone know if any ships have gotten close so far this year? We sail next week and will be at Hubbard 5/30.

I was one of the 130 on the Summit this week who did the Hubbard Glacier small group tour. We got within a half mile of the glacier and the Summit stayed about 5 miles out. We were lucky enough to see one of the biggest calvings even for Hubbard before we sailed back. I wouldn't have traded that for anything and to me it was worth every penny. Hubbard Glacier BIG calving.MP4
