Places to wait bottom Diamond Head

Hello! 

My mom and I will be on Oahu in May and I want to hike up Diamond Head. My mom is older and can't do stairs. She might do the start and turn back and wait for me. Youtube videos show there is a parking lot and I noticed benches she could sit on. Can anyone give detail if there is anything within a short walking distance for her to check out? is there a touris info house? or washrooms? She is ok waiting an hour or so for me. I am fit and fast, so I hope I get up there in record time and snap a few shots and then run back. I regulary hike in mountains, so I can see me doing this fast. 

 

In case it does take too long.. are there ocean views on the way up or only at the very top`?

There's a bathroom and an information booth. Pre-COVID there was also a small gift shop and a place to get shave ice and soft drinks. I do not know if those are still there.

Pre-Covid there was a food truck of sorts there with fresh pineapple, fresh pineapple juice, other drinks, shave ice, Dole whips and more.

 

There is also nice seating in the shade of some trees.
