Not in this case.. No crew member is responsible for corporate decisions. You are going after the weakest link of MSC.. the butler. You need to include staff working in YC Restaurant, YC Top Sail Lounge and Concierge desk.. they all may ask if you are enjoying your day.

I would consult a Maritime Law Attorney and go after MSC management.

.. just my 2 cents..

This......

That is a very broad question but I will attempt to answer it.

She doesn't want to know what I or an attorney will do.

She understands that business is business. As a former CEO, I was the one subjected to the employees.

Our family has also been on the other side of the fence with the union. So the employees use the union to take it out on us.

Now I am not talking about going after the guy who cleans the carpet but the YC director, or one of the other higher ups on the ship.

On other Cruise lines I have gotten satisfaction from going up the food chain. I only will do that if the situation warrants it.

It has to be bad.

Charging me $1800+ for no reason is bad and forcing me to have someone threaten a triple damages to get it fixed at the last moment is not right.

Sometimes you have to do what needs to be done. Decisions are not made without the advice of council.

Right now I am liquidating a  chunk of affordable housing rental properties. Everyone is going to get evicted and will not be able to find equal housing. But the market is hot and the moratorium has caused many of us to say we are done

That is another case of a big dog (government) pushing the little guy (landlords) around is it not?

Telling us we can't evict people for not paying to live in our privately owned real estate yet the associated costs continued such as taxes, utilities, insurance.

Now they are trying to pass bills to prevent us from weeding out non payers by not allowing credit scores or asking about previous housing.

Regarding my current butler. We have seen him twice. Once the day we got on in the terminal and once last night he happen to be in the hall near our cabin.

He has done nothing! We are required to book shows on Seaview and be escorted to the showroom. He never showed up. We have a decent room steward or assistant butler is the fancy term I guess.

Not sure if it's the appropriate "fancy term," but the preferred title is Junior Butler.  It is title they seem to prefer.

I don't get the feeling but your comments about the cruise that you really went in thinking your were going to enjoy this cruise.   I was on this ship and despite having a very bad experience getting on the ship we found the ship and the yacht club to be our best cruise ever.  We even did not start out with a very attentive butler but we discussed with him our expectations and he was great after that.

Well it is indeed about the term.

We never cruised YC so far, I would not feel well with a "butler" instead of a steward "serving" me. On Cunard, OK, that is maybe something that is British reminiscence and has started 1800 something. Fair enough.

I don´t know why MSC had the strange idea to use this term, only can call it inappropriate.

Well we just had our 3rd interaction with the butler. We were told that we might not get our room made up because it's late in the morning???

We usually stay up till 2am and my wife sleeps till 11 every day.

I just let it go. We don't care.

JAGR is correct... Junior butler. My bad.

Just curious what is your butler's name, if you would rather wait until after you get off I would understand.  I would suggest that if you really have an issue with your butler talk to the concierge desk.

We don't care about the butler which was my original point. We have no issue and don't want anything more. Don't make the room till evening, fine with us.

The absence of their presence is the best we have had.

I have no problem walking to a show by myself. When my wife wants her morning bloody Marys I am glad to walk a couple hundred feet to get it in five minutes tops. They already know why I am there.

Previous cruises I needed to call and 20 minutes later they showed up or someone would show up,  Or they would automatically knock on our door at 10am despite the DND turned on.

We are simple and this has been the best lack of service that we like. We need something we will let you know.

Our best crew members are the bartenders. Even after 2am this morning they were making us stuff while they cleaned up.

I am not going to list his name even after the cruise as our level of service might be much less than yours and not to your liking and I also don't know if our hail Mary stunt last week to get the $1800 removed is not known to those her and we are being treated with caution.

Either way, very happy with the way things are now.
