newxmascruiser Posted April 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2022 Hi all Coming in from the UK for a cruise at the end of April. The FAQs state the below. Does anyone have any experience of whether this is judged to be calendar days, or is it 48 hours? With the time difference UK to US it matters. As a 3pm Thursday test UK time would mean the 48 hours would time out at 10am US time on boarding day? If anyone has experience of this I’d really appreciate your input! Thanks so much Vaccinated guests must show a negative COVID-19 test result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. truffles2 Posted April 10, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2022 What You Need to Know If you plan to travel internationally, you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e., your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure from a foreign country and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel)
newxmascruiser Posted April 10, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2022 Thank you. Yes I’m clear on the 1 day before requirement to fly in, and that’s no hassle since it’s same time zone. It’s the “no more than 2 days before boarding day” which is causing the time zone puzzle.
gumshoe958 Posted April 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2022 It is 2 days, not 48 hours. So if you’re cruising on a Saturday, you can get tested anytime on Thursday, Friday or Saturday up until check-in.
