Hopefully others will continue this thread. I am joining for a week to Alaska in a couple of weeks and I am enjoying seeing the pictures and hearing about the amenities of the ship. I have to say I was concerned reading some of the reviews of the Spirit on Cruise Critic but TravelBluebird's descriptions have convinced me that I will enjoy the ship. So thank you! And I wish you a speedy recovery.

You will definitely enjoy the Spirit! It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as the bigger behemoth ships, but you have the unique layout specific to the Spirit class ships. I enjoy being able to to dinner, walk out the door after and not having the hassle of waiting on elevators to go anywhere! Just walk on down the promenade from the back to the front of the ship. Everything is right there, alchemy bar, lots of nice seating areas, the lobby, the casino, the red frog pub, the theater. There’s plenty to do. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did in March and early April.

We're back home from the cruise and am just catching up.  I'm so sorry this happened. We wondered why we didn't run into anymore on the ship!  (We introduced ourselves to you and your husband the first day or two.  We have two kids you mentioned on here.  And we took your picture in Jamaica with the ship in the background just after we got off the ship). I hope your recovery is speedy and complete.  I have started reading your medical blog.  Look forward to hearing your recovery progress as well as how the insurance works.

Sorry about your shortened cruise.  I hope you are home & on the mend,  We would have been on the same walking tour in Cartegena, but am assuming you missed it due to your fall.  Thanks for your attempt at a review.  For us the cruise started out fairly good, with the exception of MDR.  It just seemed to get worse as the days went by.  We ended up having dinner on Lido most nights.  I felt the ship was unprepared to handle the illnesses & injuries that occurred.  While crew members were friendly & trying their best, they were just unorganized & understaffed.  Again: thanks for your attempt at a review & hope your ankle heals quickly.
