Reimbursement to new gift card - time frame question

I booked excursions for NASSAU  that has now been changed to Bimini. The email says refund payment will be sent in a new gift card (as that is how I paid for them originally). Does anyone know if this is a gift card mailed or an egift card? And also, does anyone know how long it takes Carnival to issue these? I will need to use that to re-book other excursions, etc. I won't need a $500.00 gift card after the fact.

Thank you, that helps as we don't cruise till June 2. Looks like about a week. Was yours  a physical gift card or e-giftcard?
