Car Rental Downtown Miami

I know I've seen posts on this, but the search isn't working right now, so I have to ask...at which downtown hotel is the car rental place located and which one is it? We want to rent a van when we disembark (to kill some time before late afternoon flight out of FLL). Should we take a cab to the hotel where the rental place is? Or would we be better off to catch a shuttle to the airport (MIA) and rent from there? Do the shuttles frequent the port area, or would we have to call them? Thanks for your help!

The Sheraton Biscayne Bay has a Budget Rental Car Office that is manned much of the time. The Intercontinental has an Enterprize desk that is manned during peak times.

Well going to the airport would surely get you to where there are vans but I'd call the rental car company directly to arrange for a van to be closer to you...I have not done this but logic would dictate that is an easy one...especially for Enterprize- they're tops in van rentals nationwide

Boy ya got me on that one...someone will chime in with an answer though and I'll be interested in hearing it too!
