Scotia Piper Posted February 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Hi, Quick question that I know has been asked and answered before but cannot find answer. Arriving on Navigator of the Seas in Grand Cayman on April 5 and have booked Cpt. Bryan's 9am tour (we arrived at 8am). I believe the ship stays on Miami time (est) but not sure, also would daylight savings time be in effect. Just want to make sure we have enough time and not miss tour. Thanks Lynne
drew sailbum Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 The Cayman Islands DO NOT observe daylight savings time. We stay on Eastern Standard Time year round. Daylight Savings time apparently begins April 2 in much of the United States. During the summer months, if it is 9am in Cayman, it is 10am in Miami. So if your ship time is Miami time, and it arrives at 8am, that's 7am Cayman time.

iamsaz Posted February 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Hi Drew Sailbum. I have a quick question for you. My kids and I like to check our email daily if possible, even while cruising. I'm a penny pincher and resent having to pay .75/min. on the ship. I'm assuming there are internet cafes on the island. Do you happen to know what their rates are??? Hopefully better than that!
