CStorm Posted February 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Has anyone ever had a lunch packed for them on Infinity? We are going to be on an excursion in Ketchikan until noon and then only have a couple of hours for more exploring before we need to be back on the ship. I was wondering if someone will pack us a lunch to take off the ship with us and eat while we are on our excursion?
wieslaw Posted February 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Most ports will not allow any food from the ship to be taken ashore. I believe Alaska (US) does not allow that either. Wes
hdawson Posted February 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Most countries, including the US have laws prohibiting you from bringing food or agricultural stuff ashore. When debarking in ports and returning to the US there will be barrels to dispose of food stuffs.
JimP Posted February 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 On our Alaskan cruise on Princess, we were told how to order a lunch to be taken with us on shore. I think it was thru Room Service but we didn't do it. You could always get the ingredients the day before at the lunch counter and store in your frig for preparation the day of your excursion or simply order what you want from room service. Coolcruise02 Posted February 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2006 You can take off pre-packaged foods. Things like snacks/pop, etc in sealed containers. :)

ocngypz Posted March 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2006 When Celebrity has packed lunches on their excursions. it has been small canned tuna, canned peaches, little pouch of mayo, cookie, bottle of juice and a roll. Quite uninspiried, but does conform to Agricultural law. Fruit and vegetables can harbor small insects as well as mold spores.
