readyforcruising Posted February 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Hi Hubby and I are sailing March 5th. We have never been to LA nor along the Pacific coast. What type of weather/temperatures can we expect during sea days and in ports. Would appreciate the feedback as it could make quite a difference in what we bring. Thanks Melodie
springtxbill Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 The water in Southern California is cold. At sea the first day and last day it will be cold on deck especially due to the wind chill. The weather at the ports from Cabo South will be warm to hot. Right on the water at LA will be cool also.:)
merrysunshine320 Posted February 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2006 I'm sailing from LA on the 12th. What is the weather like just walking around southern California? I've never been there, and March is such an iffy month weather-wise in the East, so I'm curious about California -- we will be there for 2 days before we sail! Arizona Cruz Chic Posted February 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 COOL! Expect the first 2 days out and back to be cool, bring a light jacket and a few sweatshirts. Once down in MX it will be warm and shorts will be fine. ***
springtxbill Posted February 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Walking around near LA can be cold or warm depending on which way the wind is blowing. About 6 years ago I was doing some work offshore while my wife staed in Santa Barbara. It was in July during a record heat wave and she had to buy a sweatshirt to walk around near the beach. A few miles from the coast and it was very hot.:)
