Carnival Freedom July 9, 2022

We booked this cruise as a third attempt at a family cruise.  Parents, children and grandchildren.  I really don’t see us completing the cruise in light of yesterday’s fire. I’d book a 7 day if Carnival would offer say a re-booking at an additional $200 per passenger rather than refund my money.  Anyone think that might be a possibility?  I’ve read that the cruise lines make money by passengers buying drinks and going into the casino?  Most of the 7 day sailings are out of my budget for the whole family.  I guess I’m dreaming but hoping we might get to make a cruise….

We are on this same cruise and are concerned too! I was looking at Mardi Gras and the prices are so high for that same week, way out of my budget too.

I wonder if they would be willing to negotiate a move to a 7 day since they are keeping a booking. Of course, the cruise hasn't been officially cancelled yet and the repair timeline is unknown at this time. Might have to wait a bit.
