buckeyemom Posted February 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2006 We are sailing on Legend of the Seas March 18. Do we stay on Eastern time the entire cruise or do they have us adjust our time to Central time? We want to book a private excursion in Grand Caymen which starts at 9:00 Eastern time. We can't make that if we stay on Eastern time, since that is when we arrive.
GMoney Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 You stay on ship's time, which will be ET. Contact the tour provider. Chances are they know this and may be able to accommodate you.

Twinsmomct Posted February 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 I was on Legend 2/11 - 2/18. We started off with east coast time, went to central for a few days, and then we went back to east coast time.
nisky Posted March 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Just back from Legend 2/18-2/25. After Grand Cayman, at 2 AM, we switched to Central time. On the return, we switched back to Eastern time on the last sea day. nisky
buckeyemom Posted March 1, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted March 1, 2006 From what I gather from reading your reponses, when we arrive at Grand Cayman at 9:00, it will be 9:00 Eastern time, is that right? I got a confirmation back from the tour operator (Nativeway) that the tour will begin at 10:30 Eastern time and conclude at 3:45 Eastern time. Will we be pushing it too much either way, or will be be fine with those times? Does it give us time to make the tender back to the ship, too? nisky Posted March 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Grand Cayman is on Eastern time. Here's my suggestion: When you board, visit the Purser or the Shore Excursion desk and tell them you have an independently booked tour on Grand Cayman and you would like to get an early tender. They were accommodating people with this request last week. If they won't do it, get in line early when you arrive in Grand Cayman(probably at the Anchors Aweigh Lounge; look for location in your Compass) to get a low number tender ticket. You should then be on shore no later than 10:00-10:15 AM. I would also suggest emailing Nativeway to let them know. You should have no trouble on the return tender. nisky
broncoz1 Posted March 1, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2006 BTW Nativeway did a great job all around for us last year. We'll be going on another tour with them on our next cruise.
buckeyemom Posted March 1, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Thank you very much!! I have read great things about Nativeway. Everyone on this board is SO helpful. Nisky, thanks for the great advise and for clearing things up for me.
