higcat Posted February 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2006 I'm going on the Wind to Alaska in early May and am wondering how many kids there has to be on the cruise for the Kid's Club to be open? I'm happy to have daughter with me the whole trip, but she's got herself really excited about the activities and would be really disappointed if it wasn't open. Thanks. :)
seasonedtraveler Posted February 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2006 During SEA DAYS from 8a-12n, 2-5pm and 7-10pm, and also on PORT DAYS from 7-10pm, the Kid's Club will stay open even if there are NO CHILDREN...simply because they never know when kids will be dropped off, and this service, provided free of charge, is included as part of the cruise. I know this because I brought my son in at around 8pm one night, and there were no kids, but 2 or 3 staff were there, so I asked if they were open and that's when they told me that they HAVE to stay open for the official Club hours even if there's one kid the whole time (although they may reassign staff to other duties if the numbers go below a certain amount). When I came to pickup my son at 10, there were aout 10 kids in there! Go figure --- I guess w/Freestyle, you never know when parents will choose to drop off their children! GROUP BABYSITTING, however, which is provided on PORT DAYS ONLY from 9a-5pm for a charge, DOES have a minimum # of kids in order to staff it...not sure what that minimum is. Hope this helps! higcat Posted February 28, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 28, 2006 :D I believe I've gotten confused between sea days and port days as I'd seen an earlier thread with a comment about a kid's club being closed. Thank you so much for your help.
