CLDS Posted May 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2004 Has anyone been on a cruise on July 4? Do they do anything special? We will be leaving on the Inspiration on that day as was wondering what to expect. Thanks!
radnad Posted May 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I'll be sailing on that cruise as well. Did the same cruise at the same time last year and they did not do anything special. However, depending on whether or not the ship leaves on time, it is possible to be sailing past St. Petersberg Beach and they do have fireworks going off on the 4th and it would be viewable from the ship. Remember, timing is everything!
SheSailsFL Posted May 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I was on the Sensation last July 4th. There was no special activity for July 4th, other than the standard Yankee Doodle song/dance in the dining room on the night they celebrate America. A lot of people wore red/white & blue swimsuits, flip flops, etc. but there were no fireworks or anything - we were in Mexico so it didn't seem to matter much at the time! Happy Sails! imlulu Posted May 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2004 My parents are doing the Destiny July 4th. They did Celebrity a few years ago. ON July 4 the theme for the day was red, white, and blue. They did all kind sof little thigns with it but mostly was dining room costumes, singing of anthem... No longer cruiseless...donations still accepted! jemingway Posted May 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I was on the Paradise July 4, 2002 and their was absolutely nothing different from any other day, except there was a small sign by the pool that read, "To Our American Friends, Happy Independence Day." dosi Posted May 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2004 SO since irons aren't allowed, I am guessing firecrackers are pretty much out too?? doris "I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine"--Caskie Stinnett Elation 10/20/02 Paradise 9/21/03 Star Princess 10/24/
jemingway Posted May 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2004 dosi, on the Paradise they told us they always did fireworks until 9/11. I still thought that the Carnival Capers would acknowledge 7/4. There was no mention in the dining room either. Other than many passengers wearing their freshly-ironed red, white and/or blue shirts, there was no observance.
