Scherb Posted February 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2006 I had planned to book a trip to see the stingrays, but we don't want to lock ourselves in (we might decide to sleep in that morning, who knows? Besides, it's a very short stop, unlike Cozumel). From what I've read, there are a lot of tour operators on the dock when you get off the tender. So I plan to wait till we get there to book something. Is that too risky? One tour operator wants a 20 percent deposit and will charge for the full amount if our party of 4 doesn't show up (not that I blame them). Any thoughts along these lines would be greatly appreciated.
lindanick Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 All the tour guys are on the pier. I did exactly what you are planning. We met a man at the pier named George Bush (No kidding). It ended up we had about 6 people total. He was great, knew the whole island like the back of his hand. I would recommend him highly. Good luck and I hope he's going to be there for you.:)
imacruizer Posted February 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Lindanick, what did you pay for your tour? How long was your tour? Did you bargain with George Bush for the price of the tour?
