Apex - Spa (ManiPedi) question

I have scheduled a mani-pedi with shellac. 
Can you ladies tell me about the quality of the manipedis on apex and

if I can upgrade it for a gel / acrylic manicure once on board ??

I had a mani/pedi on Equinox in April. It was the shellac.  It was perfect for about 2 weeks on my nails.  I never polish my nails as they are short, always break and polish chips.  I had a few nails that were split way down.  It was terrible.  The girl did such a great job I never had issues with those nails the entire cruise!  Hope that helps even though it was on another ship.
