I see this in the shore excursion pdf occasionally.  The locals welcome you into their homes for a meal, or observe them work, visit a farm, watch the crafters work.  Maybe some singing or dancing, wearing their local attire.  Looking at Croatia and Split at the moment.  Meeting and joining with locals is a wonderful thing about travel.  In fact I prefer it to church after church or a house that might be where the Virgin Mary lived.  Anyone do these types of shore experiences?
