We were booked into room U175 by an online T/A and I'm told that this room has bunk beds, does any Elation past guest know if this is true, me and the T/A are gonna go round and round tomorrow

Cabin U175 is a category 1A cabin. It most likely will have one twin bed on the floor and a bunk on the wall.

U175 is an interior cabin in the back of the ship. The legend on the deck plan shows no upper. If you go to http://www.carnival.com//Deck_Plan.aspx?shipCode=EL&deckCode=U

you can see where your room is and what the cruise lines says the bedding situation is.
