jessemon Posted March 14, 2006 #26 Share Posted March 14, 2006 We just booked our trip on Zenith for March 30th, 2006. Does anyone know when we can start boarding? I've read some people say 11am and some say 2pm? Does anyone have a TOP 10 "TIP LIST" for Zenith? 1. Crew 2. Service 3. Be kind to the bartenders & they will be more than kind to you.;) 4. Finger sandwichs at 4:00 in the Windsurf Cafe. 5. Sushi at 6:00...same place. 6. Martini Bar...Great martinis...shaken not stirred.:D Bond, James Bond... 7. A desert called a "Blue Mountian Coffee" something or other. Order two. 8. Wine tasting...especially if it is where they piar it with food. 9. Creme Brulee...yum 10. Relaxing... This is a wonderful ship. Older yes...but a ship not a shopping mall or a resort in Vegas. Well kept. The crew is just wonderful. The officers are great. I did not list the things I like in order...but it is hard to do that on this ship. Hope you have a great cruise. We are booked for our third cruise on this ship for Christmas this year. Also cruised her sister the "Horizon".
jessemon Posted March 14, 2006 #27 Share Posted March 14, 2006 We just got off the 3/6 sailing on the Zenith, and on sailaway day neither the pools nor the hot tubs were filled. By the way, despite the fact that Costa Maya has docks, we were not able to land there due to 10 foot seas. We were told by two employees that they had been having trouble with the Costa Maya docks and that Celebrity was considering dropping it as a port of call. In addition, the employees were still buzzing with rumors that the zenith was to be sold. We hope not--the ship is great. Of course, these were just rumors and only management would know for sure. Hey dawne577, Just wanted to ask what you heard on "Zenith" about her being sold. We were on the "Horizon" for 11 nights when they formally announced she was being sold in Dec. 2004. We are cruising her for Christmas. Maybe they'll get a new ship (for them) and move us into a CC balcony. Thanks for the answer in advance. vjw1218 Posted March 14, 2006 #28 Share Posted March 14, 2006 Second that! Bring cash for tips. The desk told me that on short sailings, they do not let you charge the tips. Go figure! When we booked and paid for the cruise through X, we were given the option to add our tips to the price of the cruise - which we opted to do. Does this mean the tips were not charged and we will have to take cash for this? Our cruise - with the tip charge - has already been paid for. (We're on a 4-night sailing on March 30.) This was our first time on Zenith and we loved it--so we hope he was wrong.
jessemon Posted March 15, 2006 #30 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Thank you "dawne577" for your answer. We would also miss her. We miss her sister the "Horizon" which was one of the best (if not the best) cruises we have ever been on. I for one am going to miss these size ships. Jeff
