I am trying to choose a room....but I don't know what the symbols mean that are next to the room numbers....

diamond

circle

black circle

triangle

It would help if you told us what cruise line you are referring to. I was going to guess Carnival, but they use black circles and not open circles.

They give information about the room, such as 3 or 4-berths, inter-connecting, partial or totally restricted view etc. There should be a key in the brochure telling what they mean; however, I find them a bit small to read properly, and find it easier to access the cruiseline website and look at the deck plans on there, as they are much clearer.
