Sunshineandseadays Posted July 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2022 Sailing on the Breakaway on 8/17 and wondering what are the most recommended shore excursions for Saint John and Halifax? Thanks for any insight.
FLAHAM Posted July 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2022 Go have yourself a really fine lobster lunch at a restaurant in Halifax.
phillygwm Posted July 31, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2022 We're doing the Hop on Hop off in Saint John. I personally found the reversing rapids -- which is mostly what the town is known for -- underwhelming. In Halifax, we're doing Lunenborg...but I've been to Hfx several times and there's only so much you want to see. There's a tour that hits the Titanic Cemetery and the waterfront (the explosion during WWI wiped out half the city.) I found that a bit morbid but if it's your thing, great. There was also a foodie tour which I did once. It was kind of fun, if overpriced. You could self-curate a couple restaurants/bars for a fraction of the cost.
Twomaloneys Posted August 8, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2022 In St. John’s we are doing the hop on / off also. Halifax we are renting a car and driving to Peggy’s Cove, then to Lunenburg. We have a long day in port so will have plenty of time. enting car was cheaper than tours for 4 adults.
