QM2 Red Hook embarkation

Does anyone have more information re the change of QM2 embarkation port from Manhattan to Broklyn? I am not familiar with New York and would like to know what's involved getting from Manhattan, where I will be staying, to Brooklyn. What is the distance [how long might it take] and with luggage is a taxi the only reasoable way to get there. Also for what date is the change scheduled.

Thank-you for strting this thread. We also have the same questions. We are sailing QM2 Sept 24th from southampton and of curse will be arriving in New York.WE will be staying in Manhatten for a day so we have the same questions. HOpefully someone can assist us.

See a previous thread entitled "Cunard to leave Manhattan for Brooklyn". That just about says it all. I wonder if there is an update on it. Plans seem to constantly change so it is possible that this will not happen as scheduled
