Disco and dancing

Seeing as this is my first cruise and I am taking just my two daughters ages 16 and 20, I was wondering about the age difference. This is a cruise that they can always remember doing with dear old dad. Can all three of us do the same things, i.e. dancing in the disco, hanging out in the bars, ( no drink for the 16 yr old), casino etc. I know they have the kids club for my 16 yr. old, but the 20 yr old can't hang out there. Just curious as to activities we can do together other than hanging out at the pool saving chairs and drinking the "Drink of the Day". Of course being single, I'm sure they are looking to hook dad up so they can run free.

Regards,

Mike

I'm in the same boat - so to speak - as you. My Ds are 16 and 21. The reason I chose to sail with Carnival was because my TA said she did some checking and that Carnival seemed to be the most lenient with letting the 16 go where I go, as long as she is with me. The three of us want to stay together for the most part, although I've had people tell me that my 16 y/o will meet other 16 y/o and want to run off with them...we'll see.

Uhhh actually, when are you sailing? We might REALLY be in the same boat lol.

Our situations are extremely similiar. I'm sure both our daughters will find others to hang with. That sucks. Oh well, not going to let it damper my cruise. At least all see them during the excursion. Have a great time

Mike,

No problem going to the disco if your 18+, however no drinks for the 20 year old at the bars on the ship (unless you put them on your S & S card, and then you run the risk of having your party disembarked for providing alcohol to a "minor"....)

Note: This is not intended to be a comment, pro or con, on allowing someone under 21 to drink.

I hadn't planned on allowing either one to drink in public. But I guess if the age is 18+, we won't be hanging out in the disco as my youngest is only 16. She looks old, but we will have to see. we'll find something entertaining to do together. Thanks for the input.

I don't think you'll have a problem in the disco. From the two cruises I've been on, they're not carding people at the door and with her going in with you I'm sure they won't even notice. Have a great time.

yea they dont card or nothing and you said she looks old enough so she can just waltz on in there. Im sure you and your daughters will have a killer time and also its not like people come around and card you at all if you have alcohol. forget about it!

On our cruise, I noticed security outside the disco some nights but not others. I didn't see them card anybody, but I don't know why else they would be there. Who knows, maybe they just post them when they have trouble.

Anyhoo, if you can't get into the disco, try the piano bar. That place should be rockin' if you got a good piano player. A lady had her minor son in there everytime I was. He had his kids soda card hanging around his neck. He drank his soda, enjoyed to the music and was very well behaved. (better than me :D ) Nobody said a word.

There are hours when the younger crowd is allowed and hours when they are not. Late night there has been security checking IDs on the last 4 cruises I have taken. Some nights they were inside and some nights outside the door. This only has been at the disco. There are other venues where you can dance, just not until 3 in the morning. Check the Capers for times. What ship are you on?

Enjoy

Ron

I was wondering the same thing. My husband and I are taking our 18 year old son and his 16 year old friend and our 22 year old son and his 20 year old girlfriend on the Carnival Triumph 6/3 - 6/10 Eastern Caribbean for their high school and college graduation celebration.

Some age differences and I have been wondering if my 18 year old would be allowed in the teen disco with the 16 year old and if the 20 year old girlfriend would be allowed in the discos/dance clubs with my 22 year old son.

Can't wait and counting the days!!!!!!!!!!!
