newbie55 Posted March 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2006 Does anyone know the policy on oxygen on Carnival? My mother is considering a cruise with me, but has an O2 generator she has to use for her emphysema (sp?). She figures Carnival rents them, or allows passengers to provide their own. Thanks! jleq Posted March 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2006 You supply your own unit. Contact Carnival, so any necessary storage needs/requirements can be taken care of
gaylenhazel Posted March 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2006 We are booked for on the Triumph in May. Mom uses O2. We are using Care Vacations. They will deliver all to the ship and set it up. They remove it after the cruise. It is expensive but the only way we could provide her with oxygen. You also have to fill out paperwork for Carnival (RX, doc. note, etc). Call Carnival. They were very helpful. It's adding almost $400 to our cruise. Also, Medicare will not pay for it. We've looked into all the options. Also check out the board for disabled cruising. It has lots of good information.
katsted69 Posted March 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2006 We are taking ours with us. There was no way mom was going to pay for O2 there when she has it at home. She has the continuous machine that plugs in and we will just strap it in the van and go because we are driving. Carnival said that was the only other option other than using the Care Vacation service.
