Parking at Cape Liberty Port

We are driving to the port and trying to decide whether to park there and cruise, or to get a hotel "park and cruise" package.

My question is this:  is it an easy walk from the parking garage/area to the cruise port?  Would it be possible for one of our party to drop the rest of us off and then go park the car in the parking garage, then walk back to join us, and proceed to check in and get on the ship?

Thank you so much for your help!

We've sailed out of Cape Liberty twice, and never had a problem finding a space in the garage. You just pull up by the ship, leave your big luggage with the porters, drive next door to the garage and park.

We live in Maine and drive as far as southern CT the night before and then it's an easy 2 hour drive to the pier.

It's one of my favorite ports to sail from because it's so easy peasy to park there.
