groundloop Posted August 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2022 We're thinking about the Atlantis Submarine excursion booked through Carnival, and also looking at a dinner cruise that evening on our own. Carnival's website shows the Atlantis Submarine excursion as taking 5 hours, which would have us getting back to the ship at about 4 PM. Check-in for the dinner cruise I'm looking at is at 4:45 PM, and appears to be a short walk from the cruise ship port. Can anyone who's done the Atlantis Submarine excursion give me an idea as to the likelihood of being delayed much beyond the scheduled return? (I've been on a handful of excursions over the years that got back a good bit late).
latebloomer56 Posted August 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2022 I need to follow this post as well. We are on a different ship but docked the next port over from the Star of Honolulu that we are booked for the same time frame as you. We should get some answers on here. I don't like talking bad about local businesses, but for the cost of the pretty average meal on a sunset cruise, you could get a great meal onshore and not worry about the time factor.

I know but we have good restaurants at home but not many that float 😊.

I was speaking to the OP specifically. You are in a different situation. You just have to walk across the Aloha Market Place to the Star of Honolulu from our ship. The OP is stressing over timelines of doing two big things the same day. In their case they'd be better off not trying to do both, and just going into Waikiki for a better meal. Right but we are in the same boat (sort of speak) I want to do this tour but don't return until 4:30 maybe. So if the OP finds something hoping they share.
